Dark Forest

The Dark Forest is an important part of the Shawnimaland story, since that is where evil started and resides in the world of Shawnimals. In the beginning of Shawnimaland when only two good-natured creatures existed: A ball of stuffing, and a swatch of fabric. During this time, the forest was free of any evil. Then, as the friendship grew between these two, the balance within Shawnimaland yielded an equally unfriendly force. This evil force, which took the form of a dark, smoky cloud, resided in the shadowy world of the forest. As time passed, and the two good beings looked high and low for more friends, the evil also spread throughout the entire forest. When the two friends entered the forest during the search, the evil cloud enveloped and confronted them. The situation degraded quickly since the two friends didn't understand what was happening or what 'evil' was. Just as the evil cloud became infuriated and was set to destroy one of them with a powerful beam, the other jumped in front of his friend and was hit. This act of selflessness and friendship sent the beam back at the evil cloud and destroyed it ... or so they hoped. It turns out the cloud was merely dissipated throughout the forest, though less evil than before. Eventually, the cloud settled low to the ground, ultimately finding its way into the soil, into the water and into the trees themselves. The trees slowly filled with evil and grew, becoming filled with darkness with each year that passed. Life went on, and new Shawnimals sprung to life all over as friendship was witnessed by otherwise inanimate objects. This compounding nature filled the land with all sorts of interesting creatures. It was thought evil was truly gone from Shawnimaland – that is, until an unknowing Shawnimal went into the forest to tap a tree for the sugary syrup inside. Once tapped, the evil inside seeped out and enveloped the otherwise kind Shawnimal. This Shawnimal turned into Mr. Demon and staked claim to the Dark Forest, and vowed to turn all Shawnimal evil. Now Mr. Demon is the head bad honcho, and along with the Evil Bun Tribe is tapping hundreds of trees in hopes to turn all Shawnimals into nasty beings.
